EX60 Cross Country
A second version of the EX60, shaped for calm exploration, with exclusive materials, higher ground clearance and advanced air suspension as standard.
EX60 exterior design[a]
A shape that slips through the air, built with fewer parts and more precision. When every detail has a purpose, beauty follows.

Aerodynamic excellence
Aerodynamic excellence
The EX60 has the strong, sculpted presence of an SUV, yet every curve works with the air. A low nose and gently sloping roof keep airflow smooth, and the raised cabin keeps a confident driving position without adding drag.
Frameless doors and flush glazing keep the sides clean, deflectors calm the air around the front wheels, a flat underbody cuts resistance and the tapered rear lets air leave cleanly. Active shutters close when the battery and motors need no cooling.

Two exterior themes
Two exterior themes
The Bright theme adds matte silver detailing around the sills and bumpers for a crisp, refined look. The Dark theme swaps those accents for high-gloss black and a more technical feel.

Wheels from 20 to 22 inches
Wheels from 20 to 22 inches
Wheel designs in 20, 21 and 22 inches. Some pair lightweight aluminium with aerodynamic inserts, one has striking open spokes, and others use extended spokes and hidden bolts. The rear wheels are slightly wider for extra traction.

Born-electric architecture
Born-electric architecture
The EX60 is the first Volvo on its next-generation electric architecture, with every part, from structure to software, designed to make the car lighter, stronger and more efficient.
Megacasting forms large sections of the body from a single piece of aluminium, replacing hundreds of smaller parts. Cell-to-body construction builds the battery into the car's structure, cutting weight, adding range and freeing up space inside.

Signature LED lights
Signature LED lights
Thor's Hammer headlights give the EX60 its confident look and a long, wide beam. Matrix LEDs reshape the light to avoid dazzling other road users, and on the Ultra, high-definition pixel headlights use 25 600 pixels to dim around up to five cars and three other objects.
At the rear, LEDs trace the shoulder line to emphasise the car's width, and a welcome and farewell light sequence with ground lighting marks every arrival and departure.

Spacious boot
A spacious boot
The boot holds 523 litres with the rear seats up and up to 1 647 litres with them folded, including a 63-litre compartment under the floor, and a 58-litre front load compartment sits under the bonnet.
The floor is flat and wide, the 60/40 split load floor keeps smaller items out of sight, and the hands-free power tailgate opens with a gesture or a button.

EX60 Cross Country
Meet the EX60 Cross Country.
The same EX60, ready to explore.
Deliveries from mid-2027. Volvo Car South Africa is taking pre-orders now.
Built on the same electric foundation, the EX60 Cross Country stands taller and has adaptive air suspension that fine-tunes ride height and damping for comfort and stability. It glides over uneven roads and stays composed through corners, in town or far from it.
Choose Plus or Ultra equipment. Volvo lists the EX60 Cross Country from model year 2028.
Distinctive exterior design
A new Frost Green colour gives it a calm, natural tone, while brushed stainless steel skid plates, matt black cladding and wheel-arch extensions add proportion and presence without being showy.
Exclusive interior materials
Ventilated midnight blue tailored knit, exclusive to this model, pairs with weathered grey ash decor. The Topography decor is an alternative, with an embossed pattern inspired by Arctic landscapes, and Charcoal textile mats with Cross Country detailing are tough and easy to clean.
Adaptive air suspension with Off-road mode
The air suspension adjusts height and damping up to 500 times a second, raising or lowering the car by 20 mm for comfort and efficiency. Below 40 km/h, Off-road mode adds traction and control when the going gets rough.

Questions about the Volvo EX60
When is the Volvo EX60 coming to South Africa, and what will it cost?
Volvo Car South Africa lists the EX60 as a 2027 model and has not yet published prices. The EX60 Cross Country is available to pre-order, with deliveries from mid-2027. Keep me updated about the EX60 and Produkta Volvo Cars Mbombela will let you know as soon as prices and stock are confirmed.
Is the Volvo EX60 only available as a fully electric car?
Yes. The EX60 is a fully electric midsize SUV built on a dedicated electric architecture. If you are not ready to go fully electric, the XC60 Plug-in Hybrid and the XC60 mild hybrid are available now.
What is the range of the Volvo EX60?
Up to 645 km for the P6 Electric and up to 695 km for the P10 AWD Electric on the WLTP cycle. Pre-conditioning the battery before you drive helps you get the most from it. Range figures are preliminary, based on WLTP testing under specific test conditions and not guaranteed; real-world range depends on how and where you drive. Vehicle certification pending.
How long does it take to charge the Volvo EX60?
About 16 minutes from 10 to 80 per cent at a DC fast charger. Breathe Charge software, fitted as standard, manages the battery to speed up charging by up to 30 per cent, especially in the cold, without affecting range or battery health. On a 3-phase 16 A AC supply, a full charge takes about 8 hours for the P6 Electric and 9 hours for the P10 AWD Electric. Charging times vary with powertrain, temperature, equipment and battery condition.
How much does it cost to charge the Volvo EX60?
It depends on your electricity tariff and where you charge, but charging an electric car usually costs less per kilometre than refuelling a comparable petrol or diesel car. With fewer moving parts, servicing tends to cost less over time too.
Where can I charge the Volvo EX60?
DC fast chargers are the quickest. Find them in Google Maps or the Volvo Cars app, where Plug & Charge handles payment automatically, without cards or extra apps. A Volvo Cars wallbox makes overnight home charging simple, and the EX60 is prepared for bi-directional charging. Read more in charging your Volvo.
Is the Volvo EX60 a safe car?
It is developed to Volvo's own safety standards, which go beyond what regulations require. Since 1970, Volvo's Traffic Accident Research Team has studied more than 50 000 real-world accidents, and those findings shape every new Volvo, including the EX60.
What safety features does the Volvo EX60 have as standard?
Driver assistance and collision-avoidance systems that respond to other vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, a reinforced safety cage, and airbags and safety belts that work together to manage crash forces. The front seats get Volvo's world-first multi-adaptive safety belt, named one of TIME's Best Inventions of 2025, which uses data from sensors inside and outside the car to adapt to the crash, the occupant's size and their seating position.
What technology does the Volvo EX60 have?
A central core computer runs the car and receives over-the-air updates, so it keeps gaining features. Google built-in includes Gemini, a conversational AI assistant, plus Google Maps and Google Play, and the 15.04-inch curved OLED centre display runs apps such as Spotify and Apple Music. Sound comes from Bose on the Plus or Bowers & Wilkins on the Ultra. Google, Google Play, Google Maps and Gemini are trademarks of Google LLC.
Does the Volvo EX60 have Apple CarPlay?
Yes. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard. Apple CarPlay and iPhone are trademarks of Apple Inc.
How big is the boot of the Volvo EX60?
523 litres with the rear seats up, 634 litres to the roof, and up to 1 647 litres with the seats folded flat. A 63-litre underfloor compartment with a 60/40 split and a 58-litre front load compartment keep smaller items out of sight.
What is the Volvo EX60 Cross Country?
A version of the EX60 with a higher stance, adaptive air suspension with an Off-road mode, skid plates and wheel-arch extensions, and exclusive interior materials. It is offered with Plus or Ultra equipment, from model year 2028, with deliveries from mid-2027.
The Volvo EX60 is not yet on sale in South Africa. Volvo Car South Africa has not published prices; specifications and equipment are as listed by Volvo Car South Africa for the 2027 model year and may change before launch.
Range, energy consumption, charging and power figures are preliminary, based on WLTP testing and Volvo Cars' own estimates and calculations for the EX60, and are not guaranteed. Real-world results depend on charge level, specification, temperature, weather, topography, driving style and speed. Vehicle certification pending.
Features shown may not be standard or available on every equipment level, powertrain or model year. Errors and omissions excepted.
